Extravagant DARKNESS -Poetry /

Extravagant  DARKNESS

I walk the streets of Vegas

With my son by my side.

Where has decency gone?

We are surrounded by pleasure and pride.

Drugs cloud the mind of the decent,

Good people stumble from booze.

While at the gambling tables,

Much needed money they lose.

Oh, Vegas is so sexy.

Glamour and lies everywhere.

Sensual desires met,

By traps made to ensnare.

Hold onto your value and honor,

Don’t throw it away for one night.

Step away from the extravagant darkness,

And cling to your morals and sense of right.

THE CHILD TURNS TO YOU -Poetry /

 THE CHILD TURNS TO YOU

Down to the dirt, the child trips

Unsure of their pain.

They look to you before they react

-should they cry, or their sorrow abstain?

Into the gutter, the bully pushes.

-The child innocent and kind.

The child looks to you before they react

-should they forgive or speak their mind?

You carry a great deal of power.

Your example sets the way.

Will you teach with virtue

Or set the child astray?

THE POWER OF PHEROMONES -Poetry /

 THE POWER OF PHEROMONES

I don’t even like you.

You are not my type.

Your looks don’t thrill me.

Yet, when I caught ahold of your scent,

Your pheromones rewired my brain.

Now I must have you at all costs,

Even though I don’t like you.

AS I ALLOW MY SOUL TO HEAL -Poetry :

AS I ALLOW MY SOUL TO HEAL

Beneath the mask that shields me,

Dark is my mind and soul,

Through your deception, I could not see.

To ensnare me was your goal.

To the street, you have kicked me,

-left me in the gutter to die alone.

Passed over by humanity,

My heart has turned to stone.

In times of past, I gave to charity.

By your side, worshiped in your church.

Giving love, I served with sincerity.

While you glared at me from your perch.

In the collapse of a failing nation

I tried to hold my head high

Trapped by my lowly station

I’ve been spit on; left to die.

It was only when I released your hold,

Giving my life to a higher power.

I removed the worldly blindfold

And felt redemption that very hour.

Separated from needing your acceptance,

          It matters not my fate.

Ignoring your disapproving glance,

I keep my eyes on the golden gate.

Beneath the mask that shields me,

          God’s love I now feel.

Releasing the hate, I am free.

As I allow my soul to heal.

WHEN OUR EYES LOCKED -Poetry /

 WHEN OUR EYES LOCKED

I can’t forget the moment.

I can’t shake the feeling,

When our eyes locked.

Electricity passed with more power than the atomic bomb.

You had to feel it.

It changed my life.

Did it change yours?

Yet we live in different worlds.

We have gone our separate ways.

But I am willing to trade it all for that moment,

To gamble everything on you,

Because-

I can’t forget the moment.

I can’t shake the feeling,

When our eyes locked.

WHAT WILL THEY DO -Poetry /

  WHAT WILL THEY DO

New lies spread abound, and quickly they succumb.

Through constantly changing rules, the people become confused.

With time values shift, and everyone loses their way.

Rewritten are their thoughts, and the people struggle on.

They struggle on.

They struggle on.

What they thought. What they knew.

Nothing stays true.

Constant lies, broken ties.

What will they do?

What will they do?

 AS NATURE HEALS -Poetry /

  AS NATURE HEALS

Singing in the rain

With a voice that goes off-key,

Trying to drown the pain

Bringing joy back to me.

Rain falls from above,

Washing over me.

Nature shares its love,

Setting my heart free.

There's peace outside,

Everywhere.

Don’t stay trapped and hide.

Energy in the air.

Get yourself outside.

Sitting by a stream

In a mountain meadow high,

Allowing myself to dream,

Kissed by the sky.

Nature shares its glory.

My soul begins to heal

As I rewrite my story

The peace I can now feel.

There's peace outside,

Everywhere.

Don’t stay trapped and hide.

Energy in the air.

Get yourself outside.
