DEMANDING CHILD -Poetry

 DEMANDING CHILD

DEMANDING CHILD

“I demand my inheritance now,”
The selfish child says with a scow.
“I cannot wait until you die,
For my account is bone-dry.”

“I need, I want, without the work,”
The child says with a smirk.

THE PARENT

“Oh no, on no, you must wait,
Until I leave to the pearly gate.
My bank account is for me to live,
And at this time, I have nothing to give.”

DEMANDING CHILD

“But, I demand your hard-earned dough,
For you to deny me is such a blow.
Give me my inheritance. I don’t care about you.
I’ll take your house. I’m not worried what you’ll do.”
Should the parent remove the selfish child from the will?
Should the selfish demands they fill?
Will they leave the child without a cent?
How dare the child demand the way the parent's money is spent.

VESSELS OF LOVE -Poetry

 VESSELS OF LOVE

Our bodies were designed as vessels of love,
To succor and comfort the feeble,
To give, even as we go without.

I WON'T LET ANYONE ELSE IN -Poetry

I WON'T LET ANYONE ELSE IN

Disappointment and heartache
Yet one more chance for me.
Relationships that end and break
Drop me to my knee.
Hope lined with reservation.
Foolishly I entered in.
Despite my strong reservation,
I let a new friendship begin.
Reluctant and burned.
Never wanting the hurt again.
The scars of broken dreams earned.
I won’t let anyone else in.

DEAR CHILD -Poetry

 DEAR CHILD

Dear Child,
Sweet child,
I wish you could see beyond the closed door,
Of the opportunities that await you.
Yes, I know the pain is real,
As you feel nothing more lies ahead.
But this is a small moment in your life.
There is so much more waiting for you,
If you will only move forward with faith.
Dear Child,
Sweet child,
Keep striving for the better.

EVOLUTION OF THE FEMALE DREAM -Poetry

 EVOLUTION OF THE FEMALE DREAM

Near the kingdom of obtainable dreams
lived a tiny girl
-A tiny girl who could do anything.
Adjacent to the realm of perfect ideals
Dwelled a girl-
A girl filled with longing desires.
Beside the beams of bright hope
Grew a girl-
-A girl, trusting in everything fair.
Close to the sphere of wondrous fantasies
Evolved a young lady-
-A young lady, waiting for a thrilling adventure.
Approaching the scope of real limitations
Struggled a lady-
-A lady, disillusioned by roadblocks.
Looming the society of constraints
Plagued a woman-
-A woman, defeated by unattainable dreams.
