WINDOW C -Poetry

Leave all your effects at window C
Leave all your effects for them to see.
They'll rummage, they'll plunder, they'll take, they'll keep.
They'll rummage, they'll plunder, try not to weep.
They already took your life and home.
They already took all that you own.
These are the last of your meager belongings.
These are the last of your dreams and longings.
Place on the counter your final possessions.
Place on the counter your relinquished professions.
Pajamas will cover your naked frame.
Pajamas can't cover your burning shame.

It's all gone, even your family stolen.
It's all gone. Your anguish is swollen.
You'll ride to the camp, stripped of identity.
You'll ride to the camp, stripped of your serenity.
What life awaits beyond the fence?
What life awaits? What will commence?
Everything you had is in the past.
Everything you hoped will not last.
Leave all your effects at window C.
Leave all your effects for them to see.
They'll rummage, they'll plunder, they'll take, they'll keep.
They'll rummage, they'll plunder, try not to weep.
