EXPOSED AND ALONE -Poetry

 EXPOSED AND ALONE

There was hope we clung to often.

A pillar of strength! To hold us up.

At nightfall, when the darkness entered,

Moving, consuming, we stood alone.

The hope was swallowed; the starlight diminished.

Where was the hope that carried us often?

An empty void. Exposed and open.

Raw and real.

All alone.
