RETURNING PEACE

A sliver of light shines through the sky,

Brighter than it’s been.

Dark clouds overwhelming

Drowns

Everything within.

 

Failures illuminated in shadows,

Grinding in the sin.

Hollow feelings spreading

Icy,

Jaded, forsaken.

 

Killing off the happy times,

Leaching them therein.

Memories good are failing,

Never

Oh, never, again.

 

Oh, but bring back the light, my strength,

Nourishing pale skin.

Moments sweet returning,

Love

Kicking in.

 

Joy, pushing out the dreary thoughts,

Incubating a grin.

Hope, spreading as

Good

Feelings begin.

 

Enriched by inner power,

Defeating the grim.

Calm and peace swelling.

Brightness,

At last, again!
